The APP is a nonprofit international organization committed to the promotion and advancement of piercing safety and hygiene. It is a voluntary alliance of piercing professionals dedicated to the dissemination of information about body piercing. As a united group, the APP freely shares information with fellow members and health care professionals to provide the public with the best, most up-to-date information on piercing.

Was located in the scenic French Quarter of New Orleans, Rings of Desire was home to Master Piercer Elayne Angel and her knowledgeable, friendly staff. She is known for being a pioneer in the field for piercing techniques and aftercare, as well as placements. She is credited with the current popularity of the tongue piercing. Rings of Desire offers an expansive library of piercing FAQ and aftercare instructions. Elayne has closed Rings of Desire and taken up writing. Her Piercing Bible has recently been published and is for sale in the studio.
